LG E500 will no longer turn on :(

This laptop has done brilliantly for the past 3 years i have had it, however today i tried turning it on and the switch lit up as it usually does, but then i could hear no activity and nothing happens, then after a moment the hibernation light comes on.

So i thought this was strange and tried pressing the power button once more and nothing, the hibernation light still on.

Tried connecting it to the mains and still nothing. Tried removing the battery completely disconnecting from mains and then putting back and trying again, And once more the same result!!

Any idea's on what could be causing this, and possible ways to fix it?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Was there anything out of the ordinary when you last shut it off, i.e. did it just randomly turn off or did you do the usual shutdown procedure?

Thanks for the advice very handy, however it turn out that its the motherboard which is the issue, now Im curious, I know its a pretty long shot but i have an old Dell Inspiron 500 do you think I can place the Centrino Duo T7100 Processor from the LG into the Dell without having to change the motherboard?

No that is not possible. They are different sockets (P & 479). Was a nice thought though.
