I have a 2014 model Macbook Pro 13". When would I expect to get a new one. It has Big Sur. I need to budget due to the cost. thanks.

This is exactly why, while I want a 65" television (and can afford one), I stick with my 32" television. It meets my needs and hasn't broken yet. The same applies with my PC. I'd still be running my I5-760 if it could run VR. That was the only reason I upgraded to my Ryzen 5 2600 a few years ago. No real need to upgrade that anytime soon.

It may be worth keeping an eye out for any announcements or updates from Apple regarding their MacBook Pro lineup.
