Unless you have a UPS backup battery for your desktop there really isn't a battery that needs battery life monitoring.
For a desktop the only battery in your tower is the tiny RTC battery that probably will last the lifetime of the tower.
Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced tab and Check always show icon in Taskbar. Click apply.
Thanks for the reply; however, when in Control Panel and clicking Power Options, nowhere can I find any reference to Advanced tab no matter where on screen or on which side of mouse I click. Worse, when I manage to have gotten to someplace (?) that gives the battery icon option...it's grayed out, so no go!
Yes, it's a desktop, and the icon I'm referring to is the one indicating the battery life status, which icon shows how much battery life the computer has left.
