Logitech G930 vs CS Storm Sirus 5.1 help

Hey guys,


I recently purchased a SoundBlaster Creative Z 5.1 soundcard hoping for a huge leap in the audio quality department over my on board sound. This was not the case with my current USB powered wireless Logitech G930s. As far as the improvement with my 5.1 surround system from Logitech, the sound quality maybe increased some, although it is louder.

My question is, with 4 days left to return this 100 dollar sound card, would it be worth keeping and upgrading to a aux cable capable headset like the CS Storm 5.1 true surround headsets or returning the card, and continuing to use the G930s. Or keep the card and purchase the CS STorm 5.1 true surround and use the aux cable instead of my current USB. I want a drastic change for my gaming, if non of these options will work, im not sure what else to do. Thanks guys

Having a sound card is really only worth it if you do music work. For gaming the G930 or its wired partner G35 both offer great usb audio, and wont really be much of a difference with a sound card and a headset. Sure there is some improvement, but its not worth the extra money, especially for 100 bucks. For gaming having the 7.1 on the 930 is better than a 5.1 sound card.

The issue I have which started this process was the g930s although sounding good, they lack overall loudness and feel a bit quiet at times when I really want to crank them but I can't. Figure sound card would work but not with usb headphones like these.

That seems odd, my set is loud enough for me at 12% If I hit 100 I cant even put them on its so loud.
