I would consider it yes as long as it from like bestbuy or somewhere it will get a warranty

Newegg has a warranty of 90 days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834313687 This the best (or at least close to it) laptop you can get for 300$. Be warned though, it doesn't have a discrete GPU so it won't run any intensive game, not sure about Sims though.

Just found this one. It has a little lower system spec, but has more HDD space and a full year of warranty.
