I like most brands except Acer (My first laptop was an acer and broke twice), and I do not think I can get a laptop from a "no-name" company like sager or msi

If it can be cheaper than $900, I might put in an ssd. Not sure how that will impact video editing.

I presume you are talking about photoshop cs6. I use that sometimes, but I do a lot more video editing. I use arcsoft showbiz and sony vegas pro.

Idk how much your discount is, but you can always switch the battery to a 6 cell and the ram to 8 gigs, in order to get an HD screen

This would probably be better for gaming/editing as you can do hybrid crossfire with the intergrated and discrete gpu's

What website is this from? Also, I have heard that AMD processors are nowhere near as good as Intel. Is this true? How does this processor compare to the i7-3610qm?

The DV6t is not overkill. You will need at least GT 650m if you want to keep playing games on it 3 years down the road.

You can also go for Lenovo Y580 ($999).

that amd system has slow cpu and gpu and ancient gpu 40nm process. The intel system cpu is twice as fast and the gpu is at least 50% faster and the gpu takes less electricity and the intel system is miles better performance per watt.

650m takes less power then the 7670m and beats it easily as 650m 28nm is new gpu and 7670m is 40nm.

Okay...seeing as how it's an APU it's a different story, you can hybrid crossfire it with the 7670M to get better performance, the 7670M by itself is equal to a 550M..
You have no clue what your talking about.. and the die size has almost NO affect on performance.. only heat/watt usage.
