Hello! My school starts in 5 days and now it has come to my attention that a laptop is needed. I'm on a budget so I have max. 500 euros (taxes included) to use. Note: Smaller price would be preferred!

As I said this laptop is going to be used only for school work. In other words I am going to use it for web browsing, Microsoft Office programs and watching videos.

Other things I need: 15,6 inches screen size, nice working keyboard and touchpad, light weight and enough memory (4GB RAM required), enough battery life for a school day. It would be nice if laptop wouldn't be noisy because I am going to use it when I'm attending classes.

Preferred brands: Acer or HP.

Thanks in advance!

Local store shows 649 euros price for this product. I have been checking HP Pavilion series but I have heard bad things about AMD parts in laptops.

Something like Intel i3 would be good enough for processor, right?

I don't want to buy electronics from foreign countries.

However, I found two possible options from HP Notebook 15 series. I put specs below:

Panel type: 15,6 inches FULL HD IPS panel
Processor: Intel Pentium 3710
RAM: 8 Gt
Memory: 128 Gt SSD
Battery life: 8 hours
Price: 449 euros in local store

Panel type: 15,6 inches HD TN Panel
Processor: Intel Celeron N3050
RAM: 8 Gt
Memory: 128 Gt SSD
Battery life: 6 hours
Price: 349 euros

So I have 3 options and I am going to make a list of specs below:

Screen: 15,6 inches FULL HD
Processor: Intel Core i3-6100U 2,3 Ghz
RAM: 6 GT
Memory: 128 Gt SSD
Battery life: 8 hours
Price: 500 euros

Screen: 14 inches FULL HD IPS
Processor: Intel Pentium 4405U 2,1 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB
Memory: 128 Gt SSD
Battery life: 9 hours
Price: 500 euros

Screen: 15,6 inches HD
Processor: Intel Pentium N3710 1,6 Ghz
RAM: 4 GB
Memory: 128 Gt SSD
Battery life: 8 hours
Price: 350 euros

^ The thing is that I want as cheap laptop as possible but at the same time I don't want to buy a laptop that won't be able to handle simple school working. So what is your opinion about the cheapest option of this list? Is 1,6 Ghz enough for a processor?

I am thinking one thing... laptop with i3 processor has only double cores but 2,3 Ghz speed. Meanwhile the cheapest one has quad cores but only 1,6 Ghz. What I have to look for more when I am doing school work like using Microsoft Office, web browser etc. at the same time: processor speed or amount of cores?

Also if I chose laptop with i3 processor I would have to pay 150 euros more just for 30% faster speed according to CPUBoss. Although I could have got that laptop with i3 processor for 399 euros last week but I missed it...

I have to thank you for your time. It is really difficult for me to choose which laptop I am going to buy.

EDIT: I checked that my local store has ASUS X302LA with 13,3 inches screen size for sale (399 euros). Specs below:

Processor: Intel Core i3-5010U Dual core 2,1 Ghz with Intel HD Graphics 5500
RAM: 4 GB
Memory: 128 GB SSD
Battery life: Can't find it for now...

30% more performance is ALOT in pc , keep in mind that all those cpu are slow and very low voltage , they are not like faster cpu on desktop pcs .. ALL of them are slow so you dont get the slowest among them.

try to get FHD screen in notebooks , and look for ips screen , and dont go lower than i3 .
