looking for a printer app for the brother printer

i have the brother hl-l2340d printer and run win11 i use the note pad from win11 now and i sure would like to do 2 side printing and be able to pick the pages i want to print. i want to print out a BP doc. and now when i select print i have to print out 5 one side pages. i was sure back in the win10 day using the notepad i could set it for 2 sides and also print whatever page i want to print.

so does anyone happen to know if i'm recalling correctly? i know it did 2 side as that is how i print everything. but the pages i',\m not 100% sure. so if i'm wrong is there a printing app i can get that will let me print 2 side and pick the pages i need to print? thanks

the win11 guys are not able to help me. they are getting way different screens than i'm getting. they do a screenshot and then i send back the page but it is not the same. i have tried installing the software and drivers for win11 and deleting them and installing again. also doing wifi and cable and it is still the same issue.

You would need to look into something like NotePad++ which allows Duplex Printing, Wordpad should also still work. You'll also want to make sure you have the Full Software and Driver Package - https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us_ot&lang=en&prod=hll2340dw_us_eu_as&os=10068

Given the right driver and app from Brother, duplex printing from basic Notepad works.

Yeah, requires the full pack I believe. I don't have a printer to check anymore, so great you were able to confirm.

i have the hl-l2340d and the software i got from brother will not let me print 2 sided and will not do pages from win11 notepad or win10 notepad running in win11.

i can get 2 sided but i have to go into the app everytime i print and set it and then it may work and may not.

i reset the printer 3 times using the printers factory reset option and also went into the pc and uninstalled the app using both brothers uninstall and windows uninstall apps.

i tried notepad++ but i just did not care for all the coding i got in the docs. maybe i can try wordpad., and see if that allow it. i will let you know. thanks

i just did the software and drivers seperate and did a firmware update and i got 2 sided to work but i still do not get the option for pages. i do get the page to open for print preview and it does show pages along the left side but when i click on any of the pages and then hit the printer icon it starts printing and i get all the pages.

i guess i could try word pad but in some research just now it looks like windows may be getting rid of it soon and then i will be back to this.

i will try notepad ++ again. it is possible i got the wrong one the last time. or i had it set up wrong.


so now i know why i did not like notpad++ i just tried it again and i still had to go into the app and reset it everytime i printed and it also prints the lines along the left side. now why would i want those line?
