Hi all,
Im looking to invest in a gaming laptop for when I'm on the go. My budget is around £1000/$1500.
Requirements:
1. What is your budget?
£1000/$1500 +/- £100/$150
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15 inches maximum. Must be as slim as possible to fit into a school bag with books etc.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
1080p bare minimum, I wouldn't turn down one of the nice quad HD displays though, providing running games on it wasn't a problem and it doesnt hog too much battery life.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Already have a high end gaming desktop, this is purely for being portable.
5. How much battery life do you need?
Looking for around 6 hours doing web browsing and school work, I'd say around 2 hours gaming.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Mainly going to be playing CS:GO so not that intensive, although some medium/intense games may come into play like BF4/Arma 3. Reasonable settings all around.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
As I said school work and web browsing, the option of having the power for video editing isn't essential but would be nice.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
At least 750GB HDD, 1TB preferred, looking for an SSD inside also, 128gb minimum, 256 preferred.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
AmazonUK, OverclockersUK. I am also taking a trip to the New York this year so if there are any US shops (not online) that I could get one from then that would be fine providing its a reasonable idea to buy a computer whilst on holiday.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
2-3 years.
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
None needed, would prefer to keep down on the size
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
No brand preference, all about the power 😀
13. What country do you live in?
England
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Keeping it slim is a priority, whilst also having enough battery life for the regular school work day. The more USB ports the better 😀. I wouldn't mind it looking nice also, but not essential,
