Looking for Budget laptop ($280 – 420) for work/study/movies/music

My friend want to buy a new budget laptop/notebook,
he told me he will be using the laptop for research work, heavy analysis models for economics and finance, studying, internet, movies, music and skype.
he wants a very good build quality because he dropped his old laptop a lot, and he wants a long battery life.
we are from Egypt and his budget is 2000 - 3000 L.E or $280 – 420
