Looking for computer security

I'm getting a new computer real soon, And this time I want to make sure its good to go with security, I want real time protection, with an auto updater. Also this is all for a gaming computer, so it cant interfere with my games.

I torrent a lot and I have gotten stuff in the past that my AV didn't detect and it ate my computer, I would like it to not bog down my computer when scanning.

I am looking to buy a program that has the following, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, and Anti-Spyware. As said I would like it to have real time protection and auto updates.

I looked at purchasing the paid version of Spybot Search & Destroy but it says it comes with an AV as well as an Anti-Spyware, I think that would interfere with the paid version of Avast, because that's two anti-virus's, I could be wrong, but I was once told to not have two antivirus's because it would cancel each other out.

MalwareBytes Pro seems good.

I just want to know if there's an all in one program that does everything. If not, Would I just need to buy spybot and its integrated antivirus and just get malwarebytes pro? How good is spybots av and would it affect my gaming?

All the applications can help, but may not catch everything.

I use TrendMicro's Titantium Maximum Security, and have never had an issue with it interfering with my games. It handles everything you're looking for, and does it with an easy to use interface. As an added bonus, it also comes with 1 license for a mobile device in addition to the 3 PC licenses.

I use "avast!" free version with MalwareBytes Free. For the most part, avast! is all in one and Malwarebytes is just for backup. "avast!" is a background (realtime) security program and it's caught everything I've ever come close to getting, from maleware to spyware to viruses to you name it, and I don't think anything has ever slipped by it that I can remember. Compared to the days when my mom was paying for McAfee, this is a huge step up in both the fact that it's free and that McAfee didn't do crap for my protection. avast! also autoupdates.

MalwareBytes doesn't run in the background in real time like avast! does. It's just an executable scanner, but anytime I've used it I can't recall it picking something up because avast! doesn't let anything through. As for avast! not bogging down your system, that's like asking for Superman not to be weak to Kryptonite. The best way to have a realtime security program not bog your system down is not to have one at all. Other than that, expect all background security programs to be a resource hog on some level. However, assuming you're using Windows, the most seamless security program is Windows Security Essentials. Since it's built by the people who have access to the OS's source code, it's significantly more optimized and quite seamless compared to other antiviruses. However, it's nowhere near as efficient in terms of actual security. Not to worry though, avast! isn't as bad a system hog as something like McAfee and it doesn't interfere with any of my downloads, and it certainly won't interfere with any of your gaming, even while autoupdating I've never gotten a frame drop or an inconvenient message yelling at me about how the virus database has been updated. However, do expect those notifications infrequently while on your desktop. As for gaming though, there's no interference.

But another thing: You're treading some shaky ground when you mention torrenting so openly here. We (well, really the moderators) don't take kindly to open talks about piracy. These forums are meant to be clean of that kind of thing.

Would I be good with Avast Pro and Malwarebytes Pro? I just looked up Malwarebytes pro and it says it has something called "real time protection module" Is that not the same thing as real time protection?

Yes, that is real time protection. Only the Pro version offers realtime protection, which is why I use the freeware version of it, because it's not realtime. I have avast! for realtime protection. And you do not want two background security programs on your PC at the same time. The amount of conflict you'll get will bog down your PC like no tomorrow.

As for paying for avast! or Malwarebytes; don't. They're amazing the way they are for free. I've used them for 2 years with their freeware versions and it's been great. All paying for it will do will add extra unnecessary features to consume more resources and slow your system. It's not like security suddenly tightens with more efficient coding when you get their paid version; it's the exact same. Only now you have things like website reputation so you can see if the website you're going to visit anyway has a bad score. For what they are while free, they're great. If you combine it with a system maintenance program like CCleaner which you should regularly use anyway, you can have rigs running for 6 years without problem aside from natural hardware failures. CCleaner is also free btw.
