Looking for my Lost HP Laptop

Greetings All,
I Lost my HP Pavilion laptop and had sensetive information.
How can I track it through remote desktop using only its name, pass and serial no?
A help leading to find it will be rewarded $5,000 USD. Solid promise.

You can't.

The 3rd or 4th person who gets it will wipe the drive and be the proud owner of a cheap, fallen off the back of a truck laptop.
Unless you have some locating thing burned into the BIOS, it's gone.

Sensitive information = encryption + multiple backups. If you don't do that...you're fired.

The only thing you can do is file a police report.

Other than, you can try to retrace your steps to narrow down where it may have been lost. If it was a storefront like Starbucks perhaps someone gave it to the manager.

For a laptop with sensitive information it is always good to set a BIOS password, that way the laptop will not even boot into the Windows log in screen. It's a password that should not be forgotten. You should also consider tracking software for your next laptop.
