So I'm looking for a new laptop. It might still be a while before I actually buy one, so if you know of one that isn't out yet but fits my needs better than any I can buy now, that would be a good suggestion too. I saw the 'Laptop Buyers FAQ' topic, so I just copied the questions from there:
1. What is your budget?
I was thinking about €500, but if this is delusional or I would get a big performance/quality boost I might be able to go up to €1000.
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
About 15-inch. Possibly 13, if it doesn't sacrifice resolution.
3. What screen resolution do you want?
At least full-hd, 1080P.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable. I have a desktop-computer too.
5. How much battery life do you need?
I would say at 5 hours so I can use it properly at school during the day without needing to recharge. Less would be ok but then I'll have to look for a plug more
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Occasionally. I actually make games myself, so would want to be able to test those. I also play games a lot, but I'm ok with low or medium settings. I play a lot of different games, when new ones come out, a lot of indie stuff too.
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Programming. Mainly in Unity 3D, but others too. I also do some 3D moddeling and photoshopping.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
I currently survive with 500GB in my laptop. So that should be enough for the new one too.
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
My current laptop is at the end of its 5th year. So about the same would be nice.
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
None. It's always nice to have it, but haven't used the one of my laptop for at least 3 years, and can always use my desktop when needed.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
No brand really. My current laptop is a Macbook Pro (mid 2009), but I want a windows laptop next. I like Lenovo for their ThinkPads, they were awesome though have no idea how good they are now.
13. What country do you live in?

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
The main purpose of this laptop will be light gaming, programming and Unity. So I need decent graphics and CPU. I don't really care about a dvd/blueray drive but need at least 2 USB, more would be nice. Also, an ethernet port is essential.
