1. What is your budget? Trying not to go over $500. If need be, can swing $650.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Prefer 15.6"

3. What screen resolution do you want? Fine with 1074x768

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Either

5. How much battery life do you need? Any

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Yes. Mainly League of Legends, Soldier Front 2, Magic 2014, Elsword, & Minecraft. Low settings are fine as long as FPS remains stable/plauable.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) Skype/RaidCall/Dolby Axon calls(voice only)

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? 500Gb

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Don't make many online purchases, so any that the community would trust is fine by me.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? At least 2 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Any

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. have had good experience w/ Dell and Acer. Have had 2 HPs in the past that both essentially died within 1 year. So would like to avoid HP. Have been curious about ASUS.

13. What country do you live in? United States

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Currently have an Acer Aspire 5733Z-4851 | Intel Pentium P6200 | 15.6" HD LED LCD, Intel H Graphics | 4GB DDR3 | 500Gb HDD | DVD Super-Milti DL drive | Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n | 6-cell Li-ion battery. Past week it has been randomly shutting off after making a click sound within the laptop. Checked voltage of AC charger, voltage is good. Can only assume the motherboard/processor is going bad and ACER wants more for the repair than I am willing to pay. So any suggestions on a new laptop would be greatly appreciated. Will consider a desktop tower if anyone thinks that woul be better for my budget. I have monitors/mouse/keyboard, so if a desktop tower would be better, open to those suggestions as well. Thank you in advance for you time.

Choose what u want. But don't count on playing on high settings. Only self-build desktop rigs or extreme gaming laptops could do this high gaming job.

Maybe he has no idea how the laptop will be to satisfy his need.

Currently under $500 is difficult to get him a decent gaming laptop. Maybe he should consider A8/A10+HD 7670M. If he could push to $650, he could go up to i5-3210/3230 + GT 730M/740M/640M etc.

And...never buy open-box or refurbished laptops. The repair cost in the future may be more than the price of when u buy.

I know very little in regards to building a PC/choosing the right laptop. Which is why i cam here for suggestions/help. Reading product reviews/specs help me little when I don't really understand half of what is said. I only know enough to get the games I play running and somewhat playable. When it comes to hardware, I have no clue what is compatible or worth the cost. I do apologize if I come off as being lazy. Never intended to waste anyone's time with this. Just looking for some help.
