it would be cool if you could customize the color of the keyboard. i heard alienware does that but its to expensive and someone told me it costs more than what you get.

Take a look at www.xoticpc.com it's my favorite site to find gaming laptops at, good selection and easy to sort and see things at a glance. You can find systems with backlit and rgb for your price range. Things like "a good one" "for a while" is not really standards to look for. I'd get a 1080 screen for a laptop, even a 17" one. Gaming systems probably will run 2-3 hours on battery while actually used for games.
