Looking to get a 3D TV

Hello,

I'm looking to get a 3D TV for blu rays and gaming. I was wondering if someone could give some recommendations on what TV I should get. This will be my first 3D TV so I don't know what I should be looking for LCD,LED, Plasma? To help narrow it down I'm looking for a 3D TV that is 1080p in the 42in. size range.

Wait a few years for the new 4k tech to be affordable, if 3D is still around it will actually be worth spendy the extra money for it.

The first thing I would do is actually watch some 3D content on a 3D tv before you commit, it's about a 50/50 split between people who love 3D and people who hate it. If you end up never using it or not enjoying it what would be the point of even having it? I myself can't stand it.

As for active vs passive 3D and plasma vs led it's all opinion. Plasma has better darks led has better brights.

VIZIO E420d-A0 between 600-700

LG Electronics 42LA6200 between 600-750

Cheaper 3D LG is the 42LM3700 model between 450-550

Not a big selection of 3Ds in 42".

Again don't spend too much now, current 3D tech is already 3+ years old.

Thanks for the advice. I'm one of the few who likes 3D, if I get a chance to see a movie in the theaters in 3D I see that version. I think it's pretty neat. I'll take your advice and not spend much now. Thanks again!

For gaming, bluray, and 3D playback, your best option will be the Sony KDL-HX850. This TV is great with very rich colors and excellent speed. However, one downside is that it is kinda expensive.
