Looking to transfer lost data from sim card that I have serial number to. Can I transfer to a new phone?

Trying to figure a way to transfer information from a lost sim card. I have the serial number to the lost sim card. Should I purchase the same model phone that was lost?

What kind of information? If the data is on the sim card, and you lost the sim card, the data is gone.
