Before the problem arose the battery failed and was replaced by an identical brand new one. However between getting a new battery and the old one failing I used my laptop without a battery in it but FPS was very low in games causing stuttering. Even on lower settings than I normally use the problems persist. When the new battery was placed in the machine the low fps continued.

Since then I have tried looking at my power management to see if there are any problems there, I haven't found any. I've used 3rd party software to scan my hardware with no problems found. I have also reset my laptop to factory settings all of which have produced no results.

I would appreciate any input on what the cause might be or suggestions on free software to diagnose problems, or using Windows software.

If there is any further information required I'll do my best to provide it.

The low fps is crippling in all games on even the lowest setting as the game appears to stutter. I'd be very grateful for any input any of you might have.
