Low fps levels when not charging

Is it normal for a gaming laptop to get low fps levels when not charging. Is there a setting somewhere where I can change that?

Yes, it's normal, it's gotta save battery power somehow right.

You can choose the high performance plan in the battery settings and see if that helps. Go to the start menu and type in battery settings then choose "change battery settings".

I have windows 8 and Its internal no mater what setting I put it on in the battery if im playing a game like planetside 2 not charging it is barley playable but when I plug the laptop in it runs great.
