Low front analog volume on my Xonar DS, faulty?

Hi everybody

I've recently purchased an Asus Xonar DS sound card and I've found that the front analog channel is producing much less volume than any of the other channels. This was immediately obvious using earphones in each jack, something I tried when I realised I could hear the rear speakers much more than the front.

My question is, is this likely to be a fault with the sound card or could it be like this by design? I'm hoping somebody out there has a Xonar DS themselves and can tell me if they have the same issue. I have a very short 5 day DOA period, so just trying to find out as soon as possible so I can return it if needed.

Anybody have any idea?

Thanks.

Yes, I installed the latest software and set all the volumes to 100%. The front is still much weaker than the rest. The sub channel is slightly weaker too, but that's not so obvious.

Is there any reason that I should try another manufacturer rather than just getting a replacement?

Thanks
