Low volume coming from stereo

Kenwood ka 4006 connected to box speakers. volume is very low even with everything maxed. Just reconnected after a move but I have moved and reconnected the same way many times without issue.

I have removed the cover and everything seems to be in order, no blown fuses. What could be causing the low volume?

Tried two different cables, no change

In that case try with different speakers or headsets, if those sound same than you have issues with your output signal and you need professional help.

That’s what I was afraid of, Same volume on head phones as it is on the speakers...

On the back of the Kenwood is an input and output labeled 4chanel. There is also a switch next to them that should be set to normal. Sometimes that switch goes bad so you can connect the input and output with a stereo RCA cable to make that connection instead of the switch.
Also make sure that the tape monitors are off, that the speaker selector knob is in the right position for the terminals you connected the speakers.

Unfortunately that didn’t work, the sound had no improvement using the cables on the 4-channel. All settings are where they should be as well.

I’m starting to think something on the board went bad leading to an amp output issue.
