[citation]Dark forces was a class game and is in desperate need of modernisation.[citation]

I know, I know, they totally need to make a modern Dark Forces. They could call it something cool like "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" and it would be totally bad-ass!

Rebel Assault and a 1x CD-ROM with ISA expansion card. Used to cringe at the video sequences that would start and stop so much because of the optimization tools you had to use to tweak the CD-ROM memory utilizations. The game was great and the cutscenes were movie-like for the day though.

Another Jedi Knight Game
X-Wing/Tie Fighter Game

BattleFront 3 with no restrictions on the class, if you want to be a Jedi then be it, if you want a thermal detonator use it.

X-wing vs Tie fighter was the bomb for me. I will never forget networking 4 computers and having four of us leading several sqaudrons (1 a-wing, 2 x-wing, 1 y-wing, 1 b-wing) against an imperial fleet lead by a SSD. We rocked the mission. I was in an a-wing playing tie-advanced killer. MMO or not, if they can put that into a modern game, that would just ROCK!

Indeed, an upgraded version of the Tie fighter games combined with something like Jedi Knight would be the ultimate. You can either stay in your ship with your squadron and bring down that control ship, or land inside one of it's hangar bays and start giving out some hawt lightsabre lovin'.

I think I just got wood.

[citation][nom]hssreddragon[/nom]Combine Xwing vs Tie Fighter with a Freelancer size space map with the ability to fight on planets like the Jedi Knight series...That, I would spend money on if the dedicated server option was available without being an MMO. For now, Battlefield 2142: First Strike mod will have to do for my Star Wars fix until Lucasarts actually does something interesting with the Star Wars PC game genre.[/citation]

+1 for Freelancer. What an awesome game that was/is. There is a series I'd love to see some sequels to. They could adopt a Star Wars or Trek theme and the game would sell very well. Controls were nice and smooth, and you could play it for hours upon hours... man I miss that game!
