Question Macbook Air 2013 won’t go past the startup login screen.

Hi, my Macbook Air won’t progress past the startup login screen. I enter my password, then it slowly progresses along the white bar and when full reverts to black screen. I can access guest user and use safari but nothing else. Help!

Have you tried going into recovery mode and run first aid on your hard drive?
