Hi!

Need your advice please, which one to buy?

MacBook Pro 13 2017 without Touch Bar, 1799 euro

vs

MacBook Pro 13 2016 with Touch Bar, 1749.95 euro

How is the battery life on 2016 with Touch Bar compared to lower battery on 2017 model without Touch Bar.

Thanks!

This is the god's honest truth. The Touch Bar is the most useless feature on a laptop you will ever come across. Yes, it seems novel, but in reality it's useless and you'll end up using it 3 maybe 4 times and then you wont. The battery life is negligible and you likely wouldn't notice a difference. The newer one get slightly better battery life compared to the older but that depends on what task you're doing as well as many other factors. The newer device has a much lower TDP than the older one, TDP refers to the power consuption to processing power ratio. Lower TDP = Better battery life.

Sorry, I forgot to include the price for 13 2016 with TB - € 1749.95

As you can see, it's even cheaper than 2017 without TB.

So you're saying that I should go for 2017 without TB?

I would recommend the 2017 w/o the TB absolutely. You'll get better battery life out of the 2017.

Battery life on the 2017 w/o touchbar would be much better. The touchbar takes battery power to light up (it's literally a long horizontal phone screen that's constantly on)

CPU in the 2017 version is newer as well (i.e. much more power efficient)
