I have macbook pro mid 2009
Its 2 GB RAM
I want to upgrade storage to ssd and increase the RAM, i want to know which type of ssd to buy and which type of RAM?

Solution
If you want to know exactly what type of RAM is compatible go to your Apple menu, click About this Mac then System report. Look in Memory section to see what Type and Speed you have now. I think yours take DDR3 1066 (aka PC3-8500). You don't need to buy Mac RAM but here is an example of a (2) x (4)GB upgrade kit: https://www.amazon.com/OWC-204-pin-Upgrade-MacBook-OWC8566DDR3S8GP/dp/B00BKVQFU2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1543348948&sr=8-5&keywords=pc3-8500+mac

Then any SATA SSD will work. Get the cheapest one that has the storage you want. I have used several brands and never had a problem.

Is it a good investment to upgrade this laptop for a chance to have good netflix time and some browsing?

Definitely. I have a 2009 15" MacBook Pro (might be same model as yours) and it has 8GB of RAM and a SSHD (the hybrid drive) and runs Netflix no problem.
With an SSD it will be really fast, I had one in it for a while but decided to give it to my wife instead.
