one final thing, upon installation do not install the software only the driver
and how you do that is buy downloading the driver then go to the device manager and install it via "update driver" then show it where the driver folder is. this means you use windows utility to manage your wireless not "atheros or intel crap utilities with much harder " it should be very easy.

good! you can enjoy full speed and wider range i think if you hook it to starbucks and then drive away like 5 miles you'll still be connected lol. enjoy

Your guess was rigth about the magnet's purpose. I had to change a broken screen of an MSI (MS-1412) and found that "small magnet" at about an inch to left from the cover latch mechanism. My first thought was, that if it's not for the display panel itself (which isn't), than it must be for holding the screws, at an eventual disassembly (which would've been too thoughtful), so i tested the magnet on the palmrest, near the latch hole and "bingo", Windows 7 goes into sleep mode... (this might be "a bit" late in your case..., but hopefully it'll help someone else's with similar issues... )
