Yes, it kinda IS what you asked.
It comes with 4GB installed. It can handle 8GB of RAM. To get there you'd remove the 4GB and replace it with an 8GB kit like cia24 mentions.

NO THAT is NOT WHAT I ASKED
I ASKED THE MAXIMUM RAM IT CAN ACCOMMODATE .............NOT THE RAM IT COMES WITH PRE-INSTALLED.
DO YOU GET IT NOW !!!
AND NOWHERE ON THE ASUS WEBPAGE FOR THIS MODEL DOES IT SAYS THAT THE LAPTOP MOTHERBOARD CAN ACCOMMODATE 8 GB !!!
Its 4 gb ..
And that is enough for most programs/games..
thats not the answer i am seeking..............what i asked was can a 8GB RAM be installed by replacing the original 4GB, and where does it confirms this on the ASUS website. can you show me a link where it confirms that this model can take 8GB (4GBx2) .
The max memory is 8G, there are 2 SODIMM slots that run DDR3 1066, it presently has 4G = 2 x 2G, you'll have to get a matched set of 8G = 2 x 4G, if you decide to upgrade to its maximum capacity.
Anytime you get stuck looking for answers try Googling it, that's what the rest have done in this thread trying to help you, cia24 has already provided a link to the memory you actually need if you go through with the upgrade, and additionally WR2 has advised you properly.
So capital_one, at your request, I'm closing this thread! Ryan
