We never implied that it was even remotely funny and we included the number and website for NYPD Crime Stoppers. We also clarified that "sadly" the story wasn't about some new iteration of GTA.

This actually was a concealed promo of Nintendo's new new line of PG+ games. If u can't afford the marketing costs u're better off robbing a cab driver dressed up as Mario and Luigi.
 
Wow somebody doesn't get it. It's called dark humor. I don't think I can put it better than this than saying "Life is hillariously cruel".
 
Next in new: mario arrested for illegal use of mushrooms. Suspect claims they were for giving him special "powers." Detectives not so sure.
