Method of reset bios password in lenovo motherboard

my lenovo laptop is locked. i know my bios password . i enter my bios password in 9 characters but laptop accept only 6 character. i remove cmos battery and fix it .it is not clear.so how to reset my bios and supervisor password.

If it only accepts 6 characters, how was it set with 9?
