I'm honestly more curious of what the initial inspiration behind this was. It doesn't sound very practical for anything I could think of off the top of my head, but assuming this were to go mainstream, I'm sure developers would create software around it.

[citation][nom]adaman2576[/nom]This is pretty neat. But to say what we are all thinking "wow a whole new world of porn"[/citation]
That is exactly what I was thinking, my head has been messed up by the interwebz!

In fact, it's a new tactile interface concept that allows users to squeeze, massage, poke, prod, squash, rub, and many other hand movements. Users can even sculpt 3D virtual objects by manipulating a ferrous fluid-filled bladder.
I don't like where this is going...

Dude as a game art design student i can think foa million peices of software that could use this , like 3ds max , maya , milk shape , blender , or any 3d modleing ap , not to forget game toolset like unreal; editor , or nwn 2 editor , or the ES editor , any game toolset that used height mapping for terrain could make real fun use out of this.

[citation][nom]ElectroGoofy[/nom]I wonder how strong the magnets are? Hopefully not strong enough to cause a problem if it was right next to a computer.[/citation]Just as long as the magnet isn't powerful enough to alter currents in running circuits (really freaking power) your PC will be fine. Magnets and computers were enemy's back in the day because floppy disks are very sensitive. I'd wager most people havn't used a floppy in close to 10 years and those who have needed to update some bios or install Raid divers on a fresh XP install.

I like where this technology is headed...

It still wouldn't be very practical. Yes, you could trace out a shape with your finger, but when you draw the same shape on the screen, the edges will be jaggy and not very clean looking. You'd end up having to go back and edit it manually - and all the imperfections would take just as long, if not longer, to smooth out.

ENGLISH MOTHERF*#$@&R!! DO YOU SPEAK IT??

Honestly, this thing seems designed for porn... And yet, at the same time, I'm not sure how you could use it for porn... Unless those coils can tighten up in which case...
