[citation][nom]azz156[/nom]its just the ps3 fanboys that complain about the 360. mines failed once but i still recon its better then my ps3 because of its games (ps3s exclusive library is kinda bland, minus mgs4 & lbp of course)[/citation]

its the ps3 fanboys and the non 360 owners who are in there right mind. 360 owners are like under a spell and keep replacing a console after it breaks on them more than twice. I don't know why people are willing to put up with this crap even if it is under warranty. i guess all 360 owners are suckers and Microsoft is loving it.

agreed..

and remember usa is not the entire world. Outside the usa microsoft warranty is not honored.

What are ppl out side the usa supposed to do when their Xbox fails? lol

"No, Microsoft should replace the defective product with a new, improved model, end of story."

Why should MSFT replace a used product with a new product and throw all of the old consoles away? Seems pretty stupid to me. My 'refurbished' 360 (which didn't come from RROD) has been running strong for years now. My disc drive was broken when I received the thing. I blame UPS's shipping though.

Still, Greenberg says that Microsoft is standing by the quality of its console despite the problems, and will even make it right by fixing the problem at no cost to the consumer. "But at the same time, we've been working hard to make improvements in the products we're currently making, so I really feel like most of this is well behind us," he said.

sure buddy....sure......

Man, Kevin Parrish strikes again. It just astounds me that you can keep writing like this, even though every article or blurb you put out gets tons of comments like this one. You suck, sir.

This is probably the main reason Microsoft is phasing out the Pro line in the first place, aesthetically it looks too close to the first generation xbox premium which has all the hardware failures.

You can change a the internals and the SKU all you want, but until it visibly looks different, any issues that have plagued it in the past will automatically be associated with the revised models.

Aaron Greenberg should be the guy you Xbox360 fanboys are criticizing, not the Tom's guy who wrote the article.

It's sad how Microsoft can just hop and skip past a 54% failure rate and all you people care about is someone adding their 2 cents to a news article.

Get your priorities straight people. You're embarrassing.

Wow...this isn't news, it's an editorial...

The failure rate is probably closer to 10 or 15% (the poll was hardly statistically sound). That being said...the failure rate is rather high.

But seriously...most consoles have a 1 year warranty (I'm looking at you Sony and Nintendo). Microsoft not only extended the warranty to 3 years (tripling) the original one, but will also send you the box and pay shipping charges both ways no questions asked for the duration of that warranty. I've seen them even do it out of warranty for free in some cases.

Yea it sucks there was a design defect...but Microsoft more than made up for it by tripling your warranty and paying for transit, etc.

[citation][nom]homerhellboy223[/nom]Kevin, I'll be honest with you. QUIT BEFORE IT'S TO LATE TO ESCAPE BEING THE TOM'S HARDWARE IMBECILE![/citation]
Exactly what i "THING". I don't know why my comment got rated down in another news article, for saying Kevin should get fired. I "thing" i got the Kevin fans on that article

At this point in time if you invest in a Xbox 360, you are the biggest fool. You already know its going to break on you so why waste money. Even if it comes with a 3 year warranty. DO you really want to mail your console in every couple of months? Xbox 360 is the worst console by far. I've never seen a game console fail so much, and people just except it. Microsoft is only 6 million units ahead of Sony. Microsoft is loosing ground here. I dont see the Xbox 360 lasting longer than 5years, due to the extremely high failure rate. Project Natal wont save Microsoft. The new Jasper chip RROD also. Microsoft will say anything so people will keep buying.
