MidRange Laptop (networking)

I have been asked to recommend a laptop lately and have been doing my research but not having any sound evidence for what I think would be a good recommendation.
The laptop requirements are roughly as followed:
Does NOT need all the bells and whistles. A good display, no back lighting problems (1080p), HDMI port.
Overall good build quality, "can take a hit" (their words). They will be on the move a lot and will need an above average internet connection, also a good battery life or ability to add a larger battery.

I have found Toshiba and Lenovo to be a good recommend but you have to be careful either way you go.

You could try one of the dell rugged range. They should be able to withstand most impacts and they are portable enough to carry around. They also have a good battery life.
