I was hoping that someone might know if Verizon has a military clause to
release you from your contracts. I recently moved to an area where
verizon is not offered. Although I have a Nation wide the reception is
terrible and I would like to try and get out without losing my deposits
and then some. I have more then a year left on my contract so if anyone
has been here and done this then please let me know.

Thanks

If you don't have the copy of your service agreement they gave you
when you signed up, call customer service and ask. Don't hesitate to
ask for a supervisor if they don't give you a yes.

I don't recall seeing any such clause when I signed up, but I wasn't
looking for it, either. Good luck, and thanks for stepping up and
serving. Y'all are in far too short of supply these days.

If you're on active duty, they ought to give it to you for free. Thanks for
serving our country!

By Federal Law, they are required to have a military clause. They might not
publish it but they do have one. If they contest it when you call them, get
ahold of your JAG officers and let them know what is going on. The JAG
officers will get it resolved. I had a problem with sprint (NEVER GET THEM)
when I had to cancel early when I was in the military, and I let the JAG
officers know and they resolved it and I didn't pay a penny.

The Dr offers: Yes, there is a military clause for those on active duty (and
thank you for doing what you do).

As I understand it, you may cancel your contract without penalty IF you
receive orders that make you move to an area where you can't/won't use the
service. You will have to fax a copy of those orders to Verizon to complete
the cancellation. And "yes", you may black out any information that you
deem confidential or secure. This is what I've been told.

The key word is "active duty". This is not an option to cancel for
convenience. Go to the source: call Verizon CS, ask the specific question,
and get their answer noted into your account. While I have my opinions and
experience, it is only Verizon that can release you early and without
penalty from a Verizon contract.

Call care and tell them your situation as you describe it. They should
give you some options. The company can handle this situation.
