Mini apeman projector issues

I am having an issue with my apemam mini project not playing video from my sling and Netflix app from my iPhone. I will set it up, get it to the point to where I can hear the audio but the screen says that it is playing on an external devise and it says if it isn’t playing to unplug it and try again but nothing ever happens.

Unplug it and try to reset your iPhone by holding down the home and sleep button for 10 to 15 seconds. Wait for iPhone to restart then plug it back in and try to check if it will play to your projector. I hope my suggestion works.

While that projector is supposed to be "compatible" with 1080P it is a native 854x480 so try to set the phone or the app itself to as close to that resolution as you can.
Next thing is to try a different source.
