Solved! Modem v Router issues

Here in the UK my ISP provide me with a “smart Hub” basically a Modem with 4 Ethernet ports. However my wireless connection around the house is poor. Is there any point in buying a Router to help with signal or will it make no difference? I’m NOT very techno minded so ANY help would be amazing . It looks like my Modem is doing what a Router would do anyway?? I’m very confused ?

Usually it can help to get a better router but you won´t get better wifi in all places in the house. So if the data connection with your current modem is great and only wifi is poor, get one or two wifi extenders/repeaters to improve the wifi in the house.
