Sooo... you are showing 18 people out of 833 boycotters playing Modern Whorefare 2. That really tells me nothing. All it tells us that they are in-game. It does not confirm if they are purchased copies. Haven't you heard that MW2 is already hacked to hell. Even the consoles MP is hacked.

Until you can provide us with more data this image means nothing.
Find out how many TOTAL players are playing MW2 from that group then find out how many are using pirated copies.

Console versions are selling like a mofo. There are 20+ locations withing 10 miles of me that sell MW2. I checked nine of them for PS3, 360, and PC editions. Every single store was sold out of the console variety while PC editions had health stack. This was in twelve stores. That would include 2 Best Buys, 2 Fry's, 2 Targets, and 3 Walmarts. Boycotting the PC version has not failed yet. We need to see a breakdown of sales by platform.

There are always those that think this game is a must have, and we have a word that thoroughly describes those types of people.

Addict.

After this was done to the PC community, any other company that follows suite with what Activition and IW has done, then it will hurt the PC industry as a whole, im sure there are a lot of people that upgrade theyre systems to play the lastest on the greatest, but if the customer isnt getting the satistfaction when buying a software product then theyll stop upgrading and hence the pc hardware vendors will suffer in the end, when that happends, no more R&D on future hardware, any newer tech will be a huge premium to pay becuz of the drop in cashflow for the pchardware industry.. its a huge butterfly effect.. i know for a fact that if im not getting satisfaction from playing a game, i wont bother upgrading my system anymore..
btw.. Battlefield 2 Bad Company will BLOW away MW2, just hope EA donesnt screw us over like IW

[citation][nom]randomizer[/nom]Who seriously didn't expect this? Only the hardcore PC gamers actually "boycotted" the game, everyone else is still buying it so the cancelled pre-orders was nothing but a minor irritation for Activision. It's a CoD game, it will sell even if it's a polished turd.[/citation]

[citation][nom]XZaapryca[/nom]All my friends are console gamers and they have no clue why the PC version sucks. I think it's funny they all got their 360's banned the other day. Even if every PC gamer didn't buy MW2, the console folks will make this pile of crap a success. There are over 31 million 360's and 27 million PS3's out there.[/citation]

Guys, I couldn't agree more with you. First off, it is marketing, Yeah i'm pretty pissed off at the screw they did with the PC Gaming community. But it actually makes sense, it is Call of Duty, it's a famous franchise that must be generating a lot of revenue. Since there are numerous console gamers, MW2 MARKETING ( as you can easily notice) has been oriented to console gamers. I know a lot of these console MW2 gamers, and they have played MW1. most of them talk about the current improvements of MW1 to MW2 in the console arena and they don't have the simplest idea of how the PC version of MW1 operates, most of them don't know that you don't have to depend of a centralized IW service and the idea of having way more players than the console flavors.

It was inevitable the huge selling of this game. FPS was born in the PC with a keyboard and mouse. I think that IW's trend has not been one of evolution, but rather step back.

But guys, don't worry, remember IW, like any other company, forecast they future based on statistic of actual selling and probabilities with many other elements involved.

What IW does not realize is such board decisions can also take a negative way in the long term.

Boycott = success.

ActiWard = lost $60 sale
Me = lost nothing. have a multitude of awesome games to play. i can honestly say i do not have enough time to play all the games i have.

What I am playing:
PC: L4D (2 is preloaded), CoD4 (30 player multi is still a win), WoW (recently started playin again with some friends in the 10 man content), Aion (okay game, more hanging out with friends), HL2 episodes (just finally got around to working on epi2), thinking of buying Crysis Warhead for $15 on Steam (or is it $20...).
PS3: Skate2, NFS Shift, MGS4 (still havent finished lol), and of course Madden and NBA2k.

I say again, Boycott win.

I'm not surprised. I'd be interested though to see how PS3/XBOX360 sales compare to PC sales. I wonder if there's a substantial difference, or not.

I'm sort of disappointed in the gaming community, simply because I feel that more people should have boycotted the game. Although, casual (console) gamers don't keep up on news stuff like this and so they're oblivious as to what's going on with hardcore (PC) gamers.

My question is now many were PC Sales, XBOX 360 and PS3. I am thinking that the majority of these purchases were for the consoles.

4.7 million copies sold. Using the usual piracy-panic numbers, had the internet been turned off, there would've been about 7 billion copies sold the first day.

No doubt it's all console sales, all PC games out there are pirated, just ask Activision.

Im a pc gamer.Thanks for all the advise,i will wait for the price to come way down,or they fix the problens.I will be busy with DRAGON AGE anyway.

Boycot was bound to fail, even if none of the PC gamers bought the game. PC gamers dont matter to developers anymore, console sales will make up for them. I was going to buy the PC version since the reccomended price was cut by half by the major supermarkets in the UK. Guess what, they dont even bother to sell the PC version. I guess it goes to show.

Sad, but true. At least some of the developers care about PC gamers and those are the ones I will be buying from.
