This is the first capturing quest of Rotten Vale and it requires you to capture a monster that you have fought before. The quest is very easy and has a huge reward. So if you want to know more about the quest, then refer to the guide below:
Walkthrough:
Finally a quest that is different from the same hunting and killing quests. This quest will require you to track down and then capture a monster. It is going to be easy as you do not have to fight the monster, just throw some tranqs and capture it. So the objective of the quest is to capture the Odogaron which is a monster from the previous quest.
If you complete the quest successfully, you will be rewarded with a whopping 7200z which is more than adequate. You will be given a time limit of 50 minutes and if you run out of the time, you will fail the quest. Also, if you faint three times during the quest, you will fail it. Lastly, you will need a Hunter Rank of eight to start the quest and you should have that rank by now. So with all of the basics out of the way, it’s time to start the quest:
1. First of fall, visit the Provisions Stockpile to get extremely important equipment for this quest and that is the trap tool. It will cost you 200z per trap tool, get at least two of them.
2. Next, you will need some sleep herbs, thunderbugs, and parashrooms. You can find all of them in the Ancient Forest. You find many of these in abundance at the upper boughs of Ancient Forest. You can also get the parashrooms and thunderbugs near the northeast camp as well. You can also find the sleep herbs in abundance in the AREA 4 and AREA 9.
3. Now that you have the components, you need to interact with your item box. Select the “crafting list” option and craft at least one shock trap along with two tranq bombs.
4. Okay so after getting done with the preparation, go to the area where you found it previously and then the rest of it is easy. You just need to keep fighting with Odogaron until it goes back to its lair to sleep. Now when the weakened monster slumbers, drop one shock trap next to it and when it is under the throes of this trap, put two tranq bombs near its head and you are done.
Once you have successfully captured the monster, the quest will end and you will be rewarded with a generous reward of 7200z.
