Well assuming you mean you've got media player .wma files (and it's
not a safe assumption) and you've got media player 10 on your PC (and
it's not a safe assumption) and you have high bitrate files already
(and it's not a safe assumption) ... there are too many 'if-but's
there, you see - you need to post proper info !
First plug in your PPC for activesync. Now start media player and go
to media player menu, select Tools->Options->Devices tab.
You should see your PPC listed, Main Memory (shown as the device
itself) together with the built-in storage (ROM) and Storage Card(s)
if any.
Click the PPC storage card to select it, and then the Properties
button. You'll get a box pops up with a 'Quality' selection tab, go to
that and choose 'Select Quality Level', then drag the slider to
Smallest Size (64kbps). OK out of that.
You can create a playlist of all the files you want in the desktop
PC's windows media player now, and Sync it to the device using the
Sync tab, and your content will be transferred at 64kbps (or below if
it's already under 64kbps to start with)
The quality can be adjusted independently for storage card, built in
and main memory to give a little extra flexibility.
In fact the quality settings can also be adjusted directly from the
Sync page (now you unsderstand the steps) : Above the dropdown on the
right which lists your device, you can also see the built in and
storage card listed. Select whichever destination you want, and then
click the small white icon - looks like a page with a tick on it. That
brings up the same dialog as from the Tools menu.
