110 years ago people were convinced that 30mph in cars would push your eyeballs into your skull. Humans hate change and the new (and I'd guess a certain percentage of macho BS "I can driver better / faster / safer than any machine" comes into it), hardly news. Am I nervous of a driverless car? Hell yes, but I'll work to get used to it if it means I can turn the commute into more productive time - just don't stop me being able to drive myself when I want to for fun and trackdays :)

I cannot wait to get a self driving car. Driving is tedious. $3000 is a hell of a lot cheaper than paying a driver long term.
