Hi I have a ~4year old ASUS A52F laptop which has been running pretty hot recently. Around a year ago I had similar problems- gave it a good clean out and replaced the stock thermal paste with good results.
I have found recently though that my motherboard temps are often hitting 70 degrees under load (antivirus scanning etc) with similar CPU temps. Normally sits ~40-50 at idle.
Im using Piriform speccy for temp monitoring.
Is my laptop about to burst into flames?
