I have msi afterburner installed in my laptop having amd 8670m 2 gb graphics card. But when I increase the core clock and memory clock and then play a game,the clock speed displayed in the left still remains the default value.I set them at 1100 and 1000 respectively but it shows 975 and 900.

And what is the maximum overclock possible with this card?

OCing that will have absolutely zero effect on your gaming performance. It is also unwise to OC a laptop in anyway, they already run hot.

I have the same card and I over clocked it and it worked well. Temperature did shoot up to 67 degrees C but that is absolutely fine. You don't need a cooling fan, keep the underside of yr laptop open keep sm pedestal under the laptop so that fresh air flows there are no obstruction around. As for your MHz reading. Do not forgot to "save" and "apply" . over clock Yr GPU then press the save button in MSI. After that press a tick mark so that that profile is engaged. Try using a red skin of MSI the buttons are well defined in that skin.
