My current Asus ROG laptop is 4 yrs old, and I am planning to buy a new one with gtx 970m and ssd drive.

Since most of Asus ROG are really expensive, I found 2 MSI laptops that have gtx970m and ssd around $1500. GS Stealth has larger ssd and it is on sale, GE Apache have a newer CPU, It is hard for me to decide between those 2, anyone have an idea which one is better?

If you don't like both, is there any better option with similar price?

MSi knows what they are doing, so I can't officially claim that it will be much higher. But I moved to a gt72 from a gs60 and my lap no longer burns playing games when not using a cooling pad, that's all I can claim.

I'd probably pick Stealth, for bigger SSD. It is also slightly thinner and lighter. The rest of the specs looks very similar. i7 5700HQ might be a insignificantly faster (on the paper, probably no difference in a real world gaming performance).

It looks like the GE72 has a m.2sata ssd and a dvd drive, whereas the GS70 has a better wifi card and a better camera. Heat kills, though so it's something to think about with slimmer laptops. Just my opinion.

So do you mean the GS70 will have much higher temperature than GE72?

How big the difference it would be in term of heat issue?
