Hello. Planning to buy a semi gaming laptop, mostly for work, and occasional gaming when travelling, (Already have a pretty decent gaming desktop rig.). Finally shortlisted among these 2,

MSI config - MSI GF Series Core i7 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/128 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/ 1050Ti 4 GB Graphics) GF63 8RD-078IN Gaming Laptop (15.6 inch, Black, 1.86 kg)

Acer - Acer Predator Helios 300 Core i7 8th Gen - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/128 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/ 1050Ti 4 GB Graphics) PH315-51 Gaming Laptop (15.6 inch, Shale Black, 2.7 kg)


Pretty much identical configs, just wanted to know about the build quality, etc.

Bought the MSI one, It had 2 yrs warranty as opposed to the 1 year one from Acer Predator, and it has all USB 3.0 ports, while the Acer one has 2.0s and just 1 x 3.0, and the weight is considerably less, almost 1KG. (1.86 Kgs vs 2.77 Kgs) . The two things that did look better on the Acer lappy was the cooling system, and maybe the speakers, but nay sure. Read that the Helios 300 lappys had some heating issues, so.

Cool! I am thinking of getting the MSI one myself.

How was your experience with the laptop? Any heat issues, etc? Battery life? Their website states that it can last 7hours on eco settings, not sure how true that could be.
