Hello,

My MSI MS-1762 (GT70) laptop is stuck on going from the MSI startup logo to the BIOS screen. I had an 0xc0000185 and a 0xc0000001 error consecutively on 2 startups. I tried everything i could find around the forums, messing with the SATA settings alternative Boot settings, F3 (repair) F8 (safe mode), taking out the battery and of course reverting it back to recomended settings. nothing seems to work. It has Windows 8.1 (pre)installed and sadly, i have no disc to repair it with. Can someone please help me?

Thanks in advance,
T-

Hi,

It may be a case of bad HDD or the CPU. Do try these troubleshooting steps to identify the issue.
- Start by removing the HDD from the laptop then boot it up and see if it will still get stuck at the MSI splash screen. If it gets stuck that means it's problem with the CPU or motherboard but if it won't get stuck that means it's the HDD that has the problem.
- If it gets stuck while the HDD is disconnected try to reset BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for couple of seconds then put it back in. Test if it would get stuck again after doing this.
- Some MSI laptop has a reset button under it. If yours have one press and hold it for 5 seconds then try booting it back up.
- If all these will not work, contact MSI support for a repair...
