My son's gaming laptop stopped working today. At lunch it was on, when he came back the screen was blank. We reset it and got the BSOD Error Code 0xc0000185. I have tried booting it with a flash drive containing windows, but it never booted. Eventually turned itself off. Wont go in to repair mode/safe mode, can't get to startup settings. Only BIOS works. I sent the problem to MSI Tech Support, and they told me it was likely a problem with the Optane Memory.
I knew next to nothing about this and have learned that it should not be messed with willy nilly. Any guidance would be very helpful.
In my BIOS the Optane Volume says incomplete. When I look at the options, both hard drives are present. Once in the while, the bios starts up in recovery and states ROM IMAGE is NOT LOADED, ROM Image update denied. Other times it starts at the main page. Aptio Setup Utility Version 2.20.1271
I am not certain how helpful any of that information is, but I hope there is an answer out there somewhere.
