My lg tv cut off the outside of the picture including text on the edge I noticed it watching sport.

get out of zoom mode. Typically theres modes like fit, stretch, wide... get back to the native mode for the program you are watching. Press the info button and it should display the native mode, then you can hit the mode button to cycle thru the modes until you get to the right one.
