My galaxy j7 perx won't read my 16 gb as card

I don't understand why my galaxy j7 will not even acknowledge my SD card is installed. Can someone help me out? Has this happened to anyone else? Is it the phone or my card?

try another known working sd card, if that work. is the other sd card, if it doesn't, then is your phone

Going to try putting it in my old phone. It used to work in that one. Thank you
