Solved! my gmail account goes grey about 5 seconds after opening using chrome???

Do you mean when you open the email portion or, the account that you have tied to the browser that shows at the top right of the browser?

The new Gmail has got few serious issues. Like i would be using something as usual. Suddenly, half of my screen goes cripped. the search bar and the menu is overlapped by the inbox list, all of a sudden. I had to relaunch my browser again and clear all the caches to re login to my Gmail.
