My laptop is not getting connected to earphones

I have windows 10 in my laptop.I have refreshed C drive before some days.After that i am facing this problem.Basically my laptop doesnot recognize earphones.I have just updated sound drive but it didn't work.

If your external speakers/headphones aren't working, try the following...

1. Go to "Control Panel".
2. Click on "Sound".
3. Make sure you are on the "Playback" tab.
4. Click on the device you are trying to fix.
5. Now click the "Configure" button and follow the prompts. (Be sure you also click the "Test" button.)
6. Once that is complete, click the "Properties" button.
7. When you are done with your changes, in "Properties", click "Apply" and then "OK".
8. Then click "OK", again, on the main "Sound window".

NOTE: If they don't show in there, right click on the white background of that window and make sure both "Show disabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices" is checked.

Should you still not see the them, right click on the "Speakers", only while the headphones/speakers are plugged in, and disable them. This may resolve the issue. Be sure you test that the internal speakers work again, when you unplug the headphones/speakers.

There are 3 things to try listed above. Did you try all three?

Does the laptop work with any external speakers or headphones? Other than the one earphones you are trying? Also, do those earphones work on any other devices?

yes,speakers and earphone work well .

OK, so to clarify, when you plug those earphones into a different device (not the computer) they work fine?

Also, when you plug other headphones or external speakers (not the laptops internal ones) in to the laptop through the same port, they work?

No,other earphones don't work when plugged through the same port.Those earphones works fine when plugged into a different device.

I see. So it sounds then like there is a problem with the jack. If nothing is working in it and changing its settings in control panel did help. You may wind up having to replace it. Or you can try getting a 3.5mm to USB adapter and run them through the USB connection.
