Question My Monitor Doesnt Seem to Work

So I have a Acer Nitro 5
and a monitor with VGA plug so I brought a VGA to HDMI adapter and connected my laptop with the monitor but the monitor doesn't seem to pick up anything and stay on power saving mode
I noticed that my laptop display is on intel graphics and the monitor is on my 1050 ti graphic card. so How do i make both of them to work
